Traditional Building
Guidebook 2025
March 2025
We are thrilled here at JP Weaver to be included in the 2025 Guidebook from Traditional Building Magazine, the professional's resource for architecture, featuring projects, profiles, opinions, and other wonderful insights! Equally thrilled to have a photo of one of our coffered ceilings featured on the cover. The editors at Traditional Building did a wonderful job giving an overview of our company, staff and history, noting our 111 year heritage commencing with English master carver and gilder J.P. Weaver, and our ubiquitous presence in the set designs of so many films from Hollywood’s golden age.
Also mentioned, our classic trade-secret recipe to create compo and our complete offering of design services from concept to completion as well as an extensive selection of stock parts; all of our ornamental mouldings made in gypsum, flexible resin and composition. Also that we restore plaster and composition components on several restoration and conservation projects every year.
It’s probably best summed up by Senior Designer Stephanie Croce, “Interior moulding design is a field of endless challenges and puzzle solving. At first glance, we seemingly face impossible situations, and with perseverance and creativity, we create solutions that are beautiful and can be executed within the client’s budget. For these reasons, this non-work work is endlessly exciting and gratifying.”
The project featured on the cover is an image from the Great Room of the estate of one of our clients in Pennsylvania. Her project became stymied and her frustration grew as she could not find any vendors nor designers to carry what she had envisioned. Although she had collected copious reference photos, there was nothing in the market on par with the scope, detail and quality of what she was seeking.
It was then our client came across one of our ads from Veranda Magazine, and immediately knew she’d found what she was seeking. The focal point of the Great Room of the estate was to feature a coffered cupola design. The ideas that flew back and forth between our client and JP Weaver lead Designer Stephanie Croce yielded a stunning design that is at once Italianate with touches Louis XIV.
“Non-work” is a good way of putting our day-in/day-out. All of the projects that come to our table provide us the opportunity to create the beautiful solutions we love doing, tempering these ideas within the client’s budget. We’re thankful for the inclusion of the Traditional Building 2025 Guidebook and look forward to the possibility of working with you and your project.
