For the better part of 30 years Scott Johnston’s company “The Wood Extension” has produced innumerable examples of exquisite wood cabinet ornamentation and furniture. His speciality is motorized TV lift cabinets that will typically fit 20" to 80" screens.

As a furniture maker Scott works closely with his clients, the top USA TV lift manufacturers and coordinates component requirements with audio video specialists throughout the country. He utilizes TV lift systems that lift up/down, slide, swivel and pivot in floors, walls, built-ins and in furniture. His vast knowledge and experience in this field provides unique innovations in design and craftsmanship par excellence.

Scott came to JP Weaver with a particular project where his client wanted an elegant credenza style piece featuring Hounduran mahogany embellished with ornament with a gold finish.

Scott worked with JP Weaver Design Specialist Joshua Kast with the design. Josh drew up a remarkable drawing featuring three cameos with allegorical puttis so serve as focal points in the rich burled front-facing wood panels. A beautiful dimensional acanthus leaf linear would serve as the cabinet’s cornice. Bullited ornament pieces would be placed in individual panels along the base. Josh drew inspiration of the design from some of Napoleon’s Conceil cabinets at Fontainebleau.

The client was astounded with the design and Scott went to work right away with the ornament pieces from our catalog. Scott’s collaboration with Joshua produced a remarkable result that went far beyond all expectations of the client.
